Summer Mix offered 1290 course places on 86 courses subject areas such as IT, foreign languages, business and careers, sport fitness and well being, cooking and a number of career opportunities.
1044 young people registered to enrol on the courses provided and some of the courses saw a 100% over capacity interest (Something we would like to address next year).
69% of those young people applying to summer mix were successful on obtaining one or more course
58% females, 42% males
22% identified themselves as requiring additional support needs
As this was our first year in delivering Summer Mix, it was also the first time young people were recruited to the scheme. Since the completion of the programme, we have had a number of young people contact the Youth Service looking for volunteering opportunities.
11 young people were recruited as Young ambassadors and have complete over 150 hours each over the last twelve months.
13 were recruited as peer motivators and supported the Summer Mix Programme during the four week programme.
